Master bathroom remodel: freestanding tub and vanity

Master bathroom remodel: freestanding tub and vanity

A master bath transformation built around a freestanding soaking tub positioned to take advantage of the natural window light. CRS Construction reconfigured the layout to accommodate the tub while preserving flow to the vanity and sink area. New vanity, plumbing fixtures, and tile work throughout. The result is a spa-like space that feels completely reimagined from the original.

Project details

What was the focus of this Laguna Beach master bath project?

The project centered on a freestanding soaking tub positioned specifically to take advantage of natural window light, with the overall layout reconfigured around that one fixture. Rather than treating the tub as an add-on to an existing floor plan, CRS Construction adjusted the room's layout to preserve flow to the vanity and sink area while still giving the tub its own defined space near the window. New vanity, plumbing fixtures, and tile work were installed throughout the room to match the elevated feel the freestanding tub was meant to establish, resulting in a cohesive master bath rather than a single upgraded fixture in an otherwise untouched room.

What was replaced in this remodel?

The project replaced the vanity, all plumbing fixtures, and the tile work throughout the bathroom, in addition to introducing the new freestanding soaking tub as the room's centerpiece. Replacing plumbing fixtures alongside a layout change is typical for a master bath remodel of this scope, since relocating or adding a freestanding tub usually requires new supply and drain lines rather than reusing the original rough-in. The new vanity and tile were selected to complement the tub rather than as a separate, disconnected update, which is part of why the finished room reads as a single cohesive design rather than a patchwork of individual upgrades.

What was the result?

The finished bathroom is a spa-like space that feels completely reimagined from the original layout, built around the freestanding tub's placement near natural window light. Because the layout, fixtures, vanity, and tile were all addressed together rather than piecemeal, the result reads as a cohesive design rather than a series of individual swaps. This kind of full master bath transformation, centered on one statement fixture with everything else built around it, is a common approach for Laguna Beach homes where hillside lots and coastal light make window placement an especially valuable design asset to build a layout around.
